Mary Ann Scheid, MD
Family Medicine
Dr. Mary Ann Scheid is a graduate of Winona State University and the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. She performed her Mayo Family Practice Residency at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wis.
Before coming to FamilyHealth Medical Clinic, she was most recently in practice at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, Minn. Dr. Scheid worked as a registered nurse at the Mayo Clinic before pursuing a medical degree. |

Adam
Ailabouni, MD
Family Medicine
Adam Ailabouni, MD, is a Family Practice
physician with special interests in sports medicine,
preventive care and health promotion.
He received his medical degree from
the University of Minnesota Medical School. Before
coming to FamilyHealth Medical Clinic, Dr. Ailabouni
completed his residency at the University of Minnesota's
St. John's Family Practice Residency Program in
Maplewood.
Dr. Ailabouni holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in aerospace engineering from Iowa
State University. |

Randolph Reister, MDInternal Medicine
Dr. Randolph Reister received a bachelor's degree in biology from Augustana College and his MD from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Creighton University, where he was a Golden Apple Finalist. He then served as Chief Medical Resident before beginning practice in his native South Dakota.
Dr. Reister, an experienced internist and skilled endoscopist, joined the staff at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic—Northfield in 2006. He offers a full range of internal medicine care and performs both colonoscopies and EGDs. Dr. Reister's special areas of interest include management of diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, kidney disease and disorders of the GI tract. |

Katherine Helgen, MD
Internal Medicine
Dr. Helgen is a graduate of St. Olaf College and St. Louis University School of Medicine. She performed her Internal Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Helgen sees adult patients of all ages. She has special interests in the areas of travel medicine, geriatrics and hypertension. |

Kristine Matson, MD
Pediatrics
A skilled pediatrician, Dr. Matson comes to FamilyHealth Medical Clinic–Northfield with 20 years of clinical experience. She has practiced the last 10 years in Northfield, most recently as owner and manager of the Pediatric and Young Adult Health Care Clinic. She is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and the University of South Dakota School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Matson is board-certified in pediatrics. She offers special expertise and experience with mental health concerns, and is an advocate for patients of all ages with attention deficit disorder.

Julia Kelley , MD
Pediatrics
Julia Kelley, MD, is a newer face at our Northfield clinic, but she has been seeing patients at our clinics in Farmington and Lakeville since 2007. Dr. Kelley came to FamilyHealth with a wealth of experience in a variety of clinic settings. She worked previously at Health Partners Urgent Care Clinics 1998–2000 and from 2005–2007. She also practiced as a staff pediatrician with Dakota Pediatric Clinic.
She holds a BA and an MD from the University of Colorado, Denver. She performed her pediatric residency at the University of New Mexico Hospitals, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Medicine. Dr. Kelley speaks Spanish and was once a communications officer with the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador, El Salvador. |

H. Dixon, MD
OB/GYN
Melanie H. Dixon, MD, an obstetrician/gynecologist,
grew up in North Carolina and received her undergraduate
education at Duke University. She earned her medical
degree from the University of North Carolina and
completed her residency as chief resident of obstetrics
and gynecology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester.
Dr. Dixon joined the Women's Health Center of Northfield Hospital in 2005 and is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She sees patients in Northfield and at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic–Lakeville. |

Ann
Friedmann, MD
OB/GYN
Ann, Friedmann, MD, an obstetrician/gynecologist and
certified lactation consultant, provides health
care to women of all ages, including prenatal care,
labor and birth, and general gynecologic care.
Dr.
Friedmann received her medical degree from the
University of Minnesota, and completed her residency
and internship at at Madigan Army Medical Center
in Fort Lewis, Washington. Dr. Friedmann, a Major
in the United States Army, was stationed in Tuzla,
Bosnia, where she served as a gynecologist and
general surgeon for troops. Dr. Friedmann is
also an International Board Certified Lactation
Consultant with specialized training and experience
in helping women breastfeed successfully.
She is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and sees patients in Northfield and at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic–Lonsdale. |

Braun, MD
Obstetrics/Gynecology
Christine Braun, MD, grew up in Minnesota and
completed her undergraduate education at Smith
College. She earned her medical degree from the
University of Minnesota Medical School and completed
her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Duke
University.
Dr. Braun is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and sees patients in Northfield and at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic–Farmington. |

Dana Olson, MD
OB/GYN
Dr. Dana Olson is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Luther College. She completed her obstetrics-gynecology residency at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan.
Dr. Olson is a board-eligible obstetrician/gynecologist and sees patients in Northfield and at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic–Lakeville.

Jose Fulco, MD, FACS
General Surgery
Dr. Fulco came to Northfield Hospital and FamilyHealth Medical Clinic from the Twin Cities, where he worked for 13 years with a private general surgery group, affiliated primarily with North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. He performs a full range of general laparoscopic surgery procedures, including vascular, colorectal and breast surgeries. He will see patients and perform surgeries at Northfield Hospital.
Originally from California, he attended medical school at the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School and was in residency at the University of Minnesota from 1984 to 1992. |

Christopher Nielsen, MD, FACS
General Surgery
Dr. Nielsen comes to Northfield from the Twin Cities, where he has been practicing since 2006 with HealthPartners. Prior to that, he spent 10 years practicing in Stevens Point, Wis.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Nielsen performs a full range of general laparoscopic surgery procedures. He will see patients at FamilyHealth Medical Clinic and perform surgeries at Northfield Hospital.
A native of Iowa, Dr. Nielsen graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Zoology. He received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine and performed his residency in general surgery at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Dr. Nielsen recently completed a fellowship in “surgical critical care” at the University of Minnesota.
